Lobby Day is an opportunity for our provider associations to exercise our rights as citizens and to advocate for vital legislation which impacts our individuals, staff and programs.
This year we were advocating for a COLA, cost of living adjustment for all staff and of course, a fair living wage for our DSP’s. The Be Fair to Direct Care campaign has been successful in securing vital increases in the past, and we continue to support those increases for staff stabilization and reduction in turnover.
Our NY legislators, senators, congresspersons and assemblyman met with our team at the Legislative Office Building and Capital Building. The legislators were very impressed with both Boyd and Oscar, and they were very commanding in expressing their points.
