Welcome to the CFS Voting Hub!
Voting is one of our fundamental rights as Americans, and one of the most direct ways we can dictate the policies and government that impact our lives. With a big federal election happening this year, we will do our best to share resources that will help you understand the issues and get to the polls to make your voice heard!
Voting is not something to be taken for granted: you can view this website from The History Channel outlining when certain groups received the right to vote. In fact, it was only in 1984 that a law was passed guaranteeing that all polling places where people vote be accessible for people with disabilities.
So make sure you make a plan to vote this November 5th. New York is usually has one of the lowest voter turnout rates in elections – let’s do our part to change it this year.
If you have any suggestions to make this more useful or if you have any questions, contact InnovativeTeam@cfsny.org.
Voting Resources
The most important thing to ensure you go to the polls is to make a plan. You need to know if your registered, and if not, how to register. You need to know how you plan to vote, either mail in, early voting, or in person. Finally, you need to know how and where to cast your ballot. Use some of these resources to help you along your voting journey.

Find Your Representatives
One key way you can ensure your needs are being met by your government is contacting the politicians that represent where you live. But how do you find out who they are and how you can reach them? Many cities, states, and towns have their own resources set up where you can find your representatives just by entering your address. Here are few:
